These are the posts from the old NotWeasel For Lunch blog, mostly about my adventures in trying everything I could find in the food courts near my work.

Small Halibut Burrito

It seems these entries are getting old.

I'm really just burning through the menu and trying to avoid the non-meat stuff at this point.

Went to Burrito Boyz… ordered burrito… it was delicious. Same ol'…

Worth noting though, is that the small halibut burrito is definitely worth getting over the large one. Frankly, I can barely tell the difference between the two and it's a buck or so less.

Mr. Souvlaki

I went out to get some street meat and found all the vendors missing. I'm not sure where they went, but all the hot dog carts were gone off my street. They were filming something across the street so they may have been removed for that. I don't know. All I know is that I wanted some street meat and couldn't find any.

I ended up at the food court across the street trying to find something I was in the mood for. I didn't… but settled on Greek food.

It was about as good as any other Greek fast food place… which is to say not very good at all. Pretty bland tasting, but the salad was fresh and probably good for me and the potatos were tasty.

All in all, it was probably reasonably healthy, though not very satisfying.

Italian Sausage and Mushrooms.

Back to Saute's today.

I was right. Italian sausage and bacon was just a bit too salty and using mushrooms in place of the bacon evened it out nicely. This was definitely better.

I think next time though I'll go with something completely new in my quest for the perfect Saute's 2 topping pizza.

So far, both pepperoni and mushrooms and Italian sausage and mushrooms are both pretty good. Of course, they're really almost exactly the same.

Numba Seven Wif Noodle.

The weather outside is decent today, so we headed over to our regular Chinese haunt.

Today I had the #7 with crispy noodles. It was some sort of chicken and beef with diced veggies and cashews.

I added a bit of soya sauce and it was delicious!

Not as good as the 10 with noodles, but still good. If you're in a mood for cashews, definitely give it a shot.

I know it's obvious, but I'll say it anyway… I really like this place! The service is always excellent and the food is great.

Today it took quite some time for one of our party to get his meal so when it came, they offered him his free choice of drink with it. Good stuff!

Falling behind!!

I've been a bit busy to post quickly, but rest assured I haven't forgotten my mission or my fans!

Yesterday I did the unthinkable. I had a Taco Bell burrito and it was awful.

The only thing saving the lunch was the Fries Supreme. Sure… it's crap… but it's tasty crap.

The burrito was downright awful though and I assure the world that I will never order one again.

With Taco Bell, you usually get exactly what you're expecting and sometimes, what you expect from Taco Bell is what you want. For me, it's usually 4 or 5 soft tacos, each with a packet of the hot sauce in them. I dig 'em. They're good.

Not the burrito. I'm pretty sure it was just a soft taco shell with a bunch of undercooked rice in and maybe a piece of chicken or two.

After all the raving I've been doing here about burrito places, I figured I'd go to the bottom of the barrel to find out what a burrito SHOULDN'T taste like. Trust me… I found it.

Don't order one. Ever.

Today was less eventful. Back to Saute's for another two topping pizza. This time it was Italian sausage and bacon. It was delicious as usual, but a bit salty. I think next time I'll try the Italian sausage with some mushrooms or something. I'm not really sure whether it was the sausage or the bacon that was salty. I'm betting on the bacon… but I'll find out for sure. Stay tuned!

Polish Sausage

I needed another quickie lunch today, so I grabbed a Polish sausage from the regular street meat cart.

As I understand it now…

Italian = Spicy
Oktoberfest = Garlicky
Polish = Salty?

It was also a bit burnt. It wasn't the regular lady at the cart so maybe this one hasn't figured out how to cook the perfect sausage yet. 😀

I'll have it again if I'm in the mood for salty… but I still think I'm best off with the Italian. It just goes nicely with the honey mustard I slather them in…

I like vacation time.

After some more vacation days, yesterday I went to Quiznos for their new prime rib sub. I got the 9" with onions on garlic whole wheat toast.

It was delicious, but every time I go there I can't help but feel I'm paying too much. It doesn't seem to be good value for the money, but it certainly is delicious.

Comparing it to other lunches though, I probably shouldn't be too concerned with the money. Instead of a little styrofoam cup of tap water, if you ask for water they actually give you a small softdrink cup with ice and water so you really don't need to order a drink. With that in mind, the price isn't any more than a combo at KFC (especially since they've hiked their prices) and it's gotta be much healthier.

After the 9" sub, I was full and happy. Can't ask for much more than that!

German Street Meat

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope the holidays were a good time for all!

Today I had a late lunch after using up my lunch break at the dentist.

I went and grabbed a vendor dog. Oktoberfest this time.

I liked it. I think I still like the spicy Italian ones better, but this wasn't bad. I was expecting it to be mostly tasteless but it had a bit of kick to it.

I'd have it again for a change now and then.

New Wok New Wok

Yesterday I went to New Wok New Wok at First Canadian Place.

I had the special, which was black bean beef with some vegetables and rice and stuff.

Not terribly memorable. A bit chewy.

I suppose I'll go back there to try other things when I've expended more places in FCP, but it's not a place I would generally choose to go to again, given the other options there.

I much prefer the Soley's burger and onion rings.
