Times Are Changing

For my entire adult life I've been working full time for the same company. Today they gave me my gift to celebrate 15 years of service. It's a juicer. Hopefully I like home made juice.

Also, on Wednesday, I resigned. My last day will be May 7th.

*sigh*

It's the end of an era. On the 8th I'll start a new job with a new company. I'm confident that it will all go well, but it's a huge change in my life and, of course, it's a risk.

If I make it to Christmas, life will be good and next year should be one to celebrate. Wish me luck.

  1. Well, I'm gobsmacked. I can only imagine that you've been looking for a change for a while now, but have been "keeping it on the DL". I've found that changing workplaces, while daunting from an administrative point of view, keeps my skills from going stale. I'm sure you'll thrive in a new environment. It sounds to me like your impending transition is reason to celebrate all on its own.

Do we get any details on where you'll be heading? Should I make plans to meet up with "the gang" for lunch before your current term is up?

  2. Yeah.., I've been looking casually inside the company since December or so but hadn't really considered going outside. This opportunity sort of found me though. A friend sent me the posting and said I should take a look. It looked interesting so I sent in my resume and the whole thing sort of snowballed. Four interviews later I got an offer and that's all she wrote. 🙂

I'm still going to be downtown so, while I don't know how hectic or flexible my new position will be, I expect we can still get together for lunch just about any time.

Next time, you'll get all the details. 🙂
