I finally finished reading the latest Game of Thrones novel so I'm back to the classics for my reading enjoyment.
I'm not sure how much of a "classic" this really is, as it came out in the 70's, but I'm now reading Ender's Game in anticipation of watching the movie when I'm done.
So far so good!
I'm only a few days into it, but it's gripping and surprisingly current. Knowing that it was written around the days of Pong, I'm impressed at the visions of technology that are so relevant today.
I mean, their desks seem to be 3D iPads and the interactivity of the video games fits right into the modern day.
I'm pretty sure I warned you but for anyone else that reads this. If you enjoy Ender's Game DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT read the sequels Speaker for the Dead and Xenocide, they aren't bad per se but are not what someone coming off of reading Ender's Game and wanting more should read. Ender's Shadow is really the next book.
Oh and Orson Scott Card has questionable politics.
I don't think you'd given me those details, though I think you mentioned that I probably shouldn't bother at all with anything beyond Ender's Game.
Right now, I'm just looking forward to watching the movie, as I'm really enjoying the book but getting near the end. I think.
I finished Ender's Shadow and I think I liked it just as much as Ender's Game. Very fun read!
