I watched the new show, Motive, last night and wasn't impressed. I was really looking forward to seeing it as they've been hyping it up for weeks and the premise is interesting. It even started off really well. You immediately find out who the killer and the victim are with great big labels. OOOH! Intrigue!!
But then it just sort of fell apart. It was a bit boring through the middle and I just didn't much care about any of the main players. They weren't all that interesting.
They gave the main character an interesting car, so that was cool. It's an 80's Olds Cutlass and appears to be in near mint condition.
Of course, they ruined the coolness by having her son use it in a drag race later in the episode and managing only a mid-17's quarter mile time. They make it out to be quite an accomplishment, but it's really a sad effort and nothing to be proud of.
Normal viewers wouldn't think anything of it and just take their word for this being a good run, but come on… how hard would it have been to either make a proper pass with the car, or just completely fake it on the scoring boards?
